In a groundbreaking partnership with Michelin®, Orvis introduces the PRO Wading Boots, featuring an industry-first outsole compound specifically designed for fly fishing. The Michelin Outdoor Extreme outsole is a game-changer in wet rubber traction, offering 25% better abrasion resistance and an impressive 43% increase in traction compared to competitors. By utilizing Michelin's tire technology, the outsole provides a wider footprint for enhanced stability, increased surface contact, and a lug pattern that absorbs shock and improves pressure distribution.
The boots feature a two-layer midsole with a co-molded ESS plate for superior stud retention and torsional stability. The shock-absorbing Phylon midsole enhances “river feel” while reducing compression compared to standard EVA midsoles. In collaboration with OrthoLite®, Orvis created a 3D molded X25 insole for maximum comfort, arch support, and high-impact performance. The industry-first cast PU upper eliminates seams while providing zoned support for better grip and abrasion resistance without added bulk.
Designed for superior ankle support, these boots are lined with closed-cell foam for added comfort and protection. A scratch rubber toe cap and heel protect against abrasion, while the oversized heel pull ensures easy on-and-off.
