RIO XL Streamer Leader – 4ft Heavy-Duty Streamer Fishing Leader
Big Flies. Big Fish. Maximum Turning Power.
The RIO XL Streamer Leader is specifically engineered for fly anglers who fish oversized streamers, heavy sink-tip fly lines, and powerful freshwater predators. Designed to deliver exceptional turnover, strength, and abrasion resistance, this specialized 4ft streamer leader makes casting large, wind-resistant flies easier and more efficient.
Featuring a medium-stiff nylon butt section, the RIO XL Streamer Leader provides the power needed to turn over bulky articulated streamers, large baitfish patterns, and heavily weighted flies.
An integrated 18-inch Fluoroflex Strong fluorocarbon tippet section delivers excellent underwater clarity, strength, and abrasion resistance, making it an ideal choice when targeting aggressive trout and other predatory species.
The leader also features an integrated RIO Micro Swivel, positioned between the nylon butt and fluorocarbon tippet sections. This helps minimize line twist caused by large streamers while allowing anglers to quickly replace or extend their tippet without rebuilding the entire leader.
With its short 4ft overall length, the XL Streamer Leader is particularly effective when paired with sinking or sink-tip fly lines, helping large flies reach deeper holding fish quickly.
